Batteries

• The camera uses our lithium-ion battery. Never use any battery other than our genuine batteries.
• The camera’s power consumption varies widely with usage and other conditions.

• As the following consume a lot of power even without shooting, the battery will be drained quickly.

  • Performing auto focus repeatedly by pressing the shutter button halfway in shooting mode.
  • Displaying images on the monitor for a prolonged period.
  • When connected to a computer (except when powering the camera via USB).
  • Leaving wireless LAN/Bluetooth^® enabled.
• When using a drained battery, the camera may turn off without the low battery warning being displayed.
• The battery will not be fully charged at the time of purchase. Charge the battery before use.

• If the battery charge lamp does not light when a USB-AC adapter or a commercially available USB device is connected to the camera, charging has not started. Charging may start when you perform the following steps.

  1. Remove the battery from the camera
  2. Disconnect the USB cable from the camera, if a USB-AC adapter or commercially available USB device is connected
  3. Confirm that the power lever is in the OFF position
  4. Leave the battery out of the camera for a while, then insert it into the camera again
  5. Connect the USB-AC adapter or commercially available USB device
• When not using the camera for periods of a month or more, remove the battery from the camera after charging. Leaving the batteries in the camera for extended periods shortens their lives, potentially rendering them unusable.
• There is a risk of explosion if the battery is replaced with the incorrect battery type.
• Dispose of the used battery following the instructions under “SCAUTION” in the instruction manual.
